Celebrities in the cannabis industry

One of the perks of being a celebrity is being able to invest in your favourite product. Cannabis has been popular with celebrities in show business and beyond for years.

Snoop Dogg

The world of cannabis without Snoop Dogg is like peanut butter without jelly or Colombia without cocaine. “It’s a real pleasure for me to share with you the products I love so much,” says Snoop in his commercial. – From cones to concentrates to food. All harvested by the hands of your obedient servant. Come to Colorado and see for yourself. For his Leafs programme, Snoop Dogg personally selects and carefully weighs each green cone.
In 2013, Snoop and a partner company promoted a line of vaporizers called the Snoop Dogg G-Pen. In 2019, he partnered with Israeli brand Seedo to promote Seedo Homelab artificial intelligence systems that help home growers cultivate cannabis. Snoop Dogg is also co-founder of Canna Casa Verde Capital.

Seth Rogen

Rogen’s name is almost as well known in the modern cannabis industry as Snoop Dogg’s nickname. Seth Rogen, star of the films This Is the End and Pineapple Express, talks a lot about the culture of cannabis consumption in his publications and speeches. An avid cannabis enthusiast, Seth has launched his own brand, Houseplant, which represents his production of natural cannabis and all sorts of cannabis accessories in the state of California. The ideological basis of the brand is social education and the promotion of the benefits of cannabis consumption.
“Starting with the founders of our country, the history of cannabis use has taken root, so it should be treated with dignified respect”. In his interviews, Seth describes the potential for a healthy human relationship with cannabis, which can have a huge positive impact on various aspects of our lives. Now his Canadian company, Houseplant, is entering the US market as more states legalise cannabis.

Mike Tyson

Known and adored by millions around the world, the tattooed heavyweight boxing champion currently grows cannabis on the west coast of the United States. As soon as the law changed in California to legalise marijuana, Mike wasted no time in buying land in El Segundo and building his ranch on it. In addition to growing, his business includes licensing and promoting numerous cannabis projects in the states. A podcast has also been launched on his YouTube channel, where Mike discusses cannabis trends with other celebrities. The main goal of his campaign is to build an entire cannabis city with hotels, shops and entertainment venues.
However, Mike Tyson is not limiting himself to growing on the mainland – in the near future he plans to set up a hemp business on the island of Antigua, which only legalised medical marijuana in 2018. Although recreational use of cannabis is still banned there, the government is keen to attract investors like Mike, who has proposed building a wellness centre and hotel on the island.

Willie Nelson

Whoopi Goldberg

Rock music star Willie Nelson is one of the first US celebrities to join the ranks of cannabis enthusiasts. In 2016, he founded Willie’s Reserve, a company that promotes the medical use of cannabis and supports small local businesses. Willie is said to place a strong emphasis on the quality of his products. In 2019, he opened two more businesses, Willie’s Remedy and Willie’s Rescue, which focus on producing cannabis-based medicines for humans and animals.
The star of the films Ghost, Act Sister and Flowers of the Purple Fields has been active in the hemp market for several years. Her company, Emma & Clyde, named after her mother and brother, now specialises in the production of dried medicinal hemp-based foods, as well as pre-rolls and other smoking accessories. Whoopi also co-founded another hemp company, Whoopi & Maya, which aimed to provide Californian women with a natural and safe remedy for menstrual cramps. The company primarily produced hemp cocoa, herbal tinctures, bath lotion and body lotion that provided significant relief from pain and cramps. After several years of working together, Goldberg resigned from the board due to conflicts with her business partner, and the company fell apart.
“When I was younger, I realised that marijuana was good for menstrual pain. I’ve been comfortable with it ever since. – Goldberg confessed in an interview with Forbes in 2019.

Carlos Santana

Recently, the legendary guitarist partnered with Left Coast Ventures to launch the Mirayo by Santana brand, which specialises in high-quality dried hemp and CBD-based products. Santana was exposed to the medicinal properties of cannabis as a child, which was definitely influenced by his Hispanic background. For him, cannabis is a source of spirituality that fuels his work. From the beginning of his musical career, Carlos has spoken about the benefits of cannabis, its pain-relieving and relaxing properties, as well as its ability to awaken consciousness and creativity.
“Cannabis is a transition to a new self-awareness,” says Santana. The name Mirayo translates as ‘my ray’ and was created to help humanity find the rays of light within themselves.

Jim Belushi

Jim Belushi made his first appearance on the cannabis market as a legal farmer in 2015, harvesting 48 plants from his plantation. The ace star of Jim Said and Curly Sue now runs a 93-acre farm in southern Oregon, which is featured in the three-season series Belushi’s Grover on the Discovery Channel. The series tells the story of Belushi’s life on his hemp farm and aims to change the way the public views the hemp business and its safety. Jim became a fanatical believer in the medical benefits of cannabis after losing his brother John Belushi, Animal House star and Blues Brothers legend, to a cocaine and heroin overdose. Working with Grassroots Cannabis, Belushi began producing Bubba Diagonal medical marijuana as part of the Blues Brothers x Grassroots campaign. “I believe that all people, regardless of political preference, are united by health, emotion and family. This magical plant will support and help in all three cases”. – Jim Belushi.

The love of cannabis unites many more names than we have mentioned in this article. Most of them are thriving in the cannabis industry, starting their own businesses and taking part in advertising campaigns. Cannabis is gaining immense popularity, changing public opinion and the policies of various countries in recent times. The range of cannabis products is growing and their use is becoming more widespread.
Jedną z zalet bycia celebrytą jest możliwość inwestowania w ulubiony produkt. Marihuana od lat cieszy się dużym powodzeniem wśród gwiazd show biznesu i nie tylko.
